The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial support to meritorious students from lower income group families to overcome their day to day activity expenses while pursuing higher studies.

This scheme is made to benefit around 82000 students per annum( 41000 girls and 41000 boys) for pursuing post graduation studies, graduation studies in universities, colleges and professional courses like Engineering, Medical etc. each beneficiary is provided with a financial support of INR20,000/- per annum at postgraduate levels and INR10,000/- per annum for first 3 years at graduation level. But students in professional courses whose duration is 5 years are supported with INR20,000/- per annum for 4th and 5th year and students pursuing B.tech/ B.E technical courses will get scholarships till graduation levels.
