This scheme is made with an objective of facilitating training programmes in enterprises and industries with the help of facilities therein for imparting on the job training. This act makes an employer in a specific business or industry to involve apprentices in designated jobs to impart training to develop skilled manpower for that industry in future days.

On the other hand, apprentices get a chance of getting trained and get practical condition exposure. They also get to know about advanced technologies, equipment and machines. They are trained to be skilled workers once they acquire skills and knowledge which help them to get wages or self-employment. While practicing, apprentices will be paid with stipend during training.
