Ujjawala
A Comprehensive Scheme for Prevention of Trafficking and Rescue, Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Victims of Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation.
Major intension of the schemes is:
- To prevent trafficking of women and children for commercial sexual exploitation through social mobilization and involvement of local communities, awareness generation programmes, generate public discourse through workshops/seminars and such events and any other innovative activity.
- To rescue victims from the place of exploitation and provide them a safe place.
- To facilitate long-term and immediate rehabilitation services by giving them basic needs, amenities like food, shelter, clothing and medical treatments.
- To help in reintegration of the victims into the society and family.
- To arrange the return facility of cross-border victims to their origin country.
